Cala Vadella

Cala Vadella is a small resort on Ibiza, beautifully located against the hills that shelter this beautiful bay on the west coast of the island. Not far from San Jose, just a 15-minute drive from San Antonio and with Ibiza Town some 25-minutes’ drive away, Cala Vadella is a visual delight. While you slowly descend in a car or bus along the winding road, the bay slowly comes into view, and the combination of clear turquoise and blue waters, beautiful white sandy beach and green, and forested hills is simply breath-taking.

Great for families

Cala Vadella is an ideal resort for families, due to the calm waters in the bay, and the gentle slope of the magnificent beach. The small rock pools on one side of the bay are perfect for snorkelling and it is possible to take part in several water sports activities here including kayaking, diving and pedalo hire. The bay is renowned for its beautiful sunsets and you will nearly always find some luxury yachts anchored in the bay, which have arrived specially to take in the views. These views can also be enjoyed from the area surrounding Cala Vadella, where it is possible to take extended walks on the pine clad hillsides. 

Living along the sea

When there is such a beautiful view on offer, it is not surprising that many of the restaurants and bars here circle the beach. In Cala Vadella it is possible to enjoy delicious, relaxed lunches and dinners while you gaze out over the bay. During the days the resort is calm and serene, but during the evening,  the atmosphere in the bars can become quite lively. Fish dishes and seafood are popular, and you will find a few good restaurants on the beach, such as Maria Louisa, where you can enjoy the local delicacies while sheltering under the shade of an umbrella. A new addition is Beach Bar Maya, with a splendid view over the bay. 

Visiting Cala Vadella

If you are not staying in the vicinity, Cala Vadella can easily be reached by car, or by taking the bus from San Jose, San Antonio or Ibiza Town. Parking can be a little tricky in the busy summer season.
